Screen printing with tulle and stencil

                 Supplies needed:

Tulle
stencil ( pre cut or cut your own)

Paint brush

fabric paint or screen print ink
masking tape
fabric/T-shirt

Start by cutting a piece of tulle large enough to fold in half and fit under your stencil. You want the tulle to be a little larger that the stencil so that part of it comes out around the edge of stencil.
Get your stencil out and put some tape on a few edges to stabilize it to your fabric.

Place tulle on the fabric in the desire area you wish to screen print. Place the stencil on top of the folded tulle. Once you have this in place you want to tape a few edges to your fabric or t-shirt.

You are now ready to apply the paint. I use speedball paint and Jacquard inks. Apply a small amount to your brush and apply it in the same manner you would a normal stencil. Stipple the paint onto the fabric. You do not want to brush the paint because this could leave brush marks on the image.
Next you need to carefully pull the tape loose and take the stencil off and then the tulle. Make sure you do not wait too long before taking the tulle off or it will dry and stick to the paint.

Final step is to follow the instructions on the bottle of ink you used and you are  finished.
