Mady's feet and walking in the foosteps of Jesus
3rd grade Spotlight World Fair Project.
3RD GRADE WORLD FAIR PROJECT
We chose Nepal this year.
Spotlight (gifted) class project we have to do every year. Choose a country and make a poster board with certain facts about the country. We also have to make a costume and have food and any other objects you can find to represent your country.
I am amazed that the head dress stayed together and that he actually wore it all day.
Showing the bling off.
The joys of children in school. Now what country do we do next year?
5 Tips for crafty blogs.
1. Pictures and videos are the key.
3. Length.
You do not want to over whelm your reader. Keep it short and to the point but also interesting. Most readers skip to the next blog if your material is too long.
4. Keep it fun and interesting.
Try something new or unique. Take photos of what you do throughout the day or take photos of your favorite craft.
5. Think out of the box.
Try something that other bloggers in your niche have not done yet. Think of something that is unique and refreshing. People love new craft ideas instead of reproducing what others have already done.
Lots and lots of neat photos or video to keep your blog visual. The more you have the better your chances of keeping your reader intrigued and wanting more.
2. Organization.
Keeping your blog organized so the reader can get all that you offer easily. Put your posts in categories to make it easy to find wanted articles or tutorials.

Photo Collage gift
I made this for a cousin that was getting married.
I used modge podge to glue the pictures and scrapbook paper. The wooden plaques were bought at Joann's for 2.50 each. I spray painted them first. I also drilled holes to attach the 3 together with ribbon.
Screen printing with tulle and stencil
Supplies needed:
Tulle
stencil ( pre cut or cut your own)
Paint brush
Paint brush
fabric paint or screen print ink
masking tape
fabric/T-shirt
Start by cutting a piece of tulle large enough to fold in half and fit under your stencil. You want the tulle to be a little larger that the stencil so that part of it comes out around the edge of stencil.
Get your stencil out and put some tape on a few edges to stabilize it to your fabric.
Place tulle on the fabric in the desire area you wish to screen print. Place the stencil on top of the folded tulle. Once you have this in place you want to tape a few edges to your fabric or t-shirt.
You are now ready to apply the paint. I use speedball paint and Jacquard inks. Apply a small amount to your brush and apply it in the same manner you would a normal stencil. Stipple the paint onto the fabric. You do not want to brush the paint because this could leave brush marks on the image.
Next you need to carefully pull the tape loose and take the stencil off and then the tulle. Make sure you do not wait too long before taking the tulle off or it will dry and stick to the paint.
Final step is to follow the instructions on the bottle of ink you used and you are finished.

New Serger
Today is the first day of the long track ahead for me and the machine. I finally got the Singer pro finish serger. It was a little challenging the first hour of trying to figure the monster out. I tried and tried to get the thing to sew the chain it had on the inspection fabric still attached to the thread on the machine. I was so frustrated when it kept balling up in a knot and had no clue as to why. I thought my venture was shortly lived. That is until I finally realized that I needed to put the presser foot in the downward position. It has worked loke a champ ever since. I have never used this type of machines before but to my surprise it is not as difficult as one would think. Once you get past all of the threading. So I hope me and my little machine have a long relationship making the oh so cute clothes for the little Mady Moo.
